      O Inglês é uma língua germânica ocidental que se espalhou nos reinos anglo-saxônicos da Inglaterra e se espalhou para tornar-se o sudeste da Escócia.

      Cerca de 375 milhões de pessoas falam inglês como sua primeira língua. O inglês hoje é provavelmente a terceira maior língua em número de falantes nativos. Varia muito entre 450 á 470 milhões a mais de um bilhão que tem o inglês como segunda língua.

      Estados Unidos e Inglaterra são países que tem predomínio da língua inglesa. Como são países bem desenvolvidos, o intercâmbio com o inglês americano enriquece o britânico. Assim, hoje o inglês é a mais importante língua internacional, considerado a “língua dos negócios”.

      Como há o predomínio do inglês nos países citados acima, o inglês passou a ser valorizado pelos imigrantes que vão à busca de trabalhos, negócios e um bom desempenho no mercado de trabalho. Assim, passaram a adquirir a língua inglesa.
